The objective of the project was to migrate legacy systems, supported in each European country into a single OneWorld environment supported by a Shared Service Centre in Dublin. My initial role at Baxter Healthcare was to assist with the initial implementation of OneWorld (B7332) during the go-live phase. The system was delivered to the user community, on schedule, in December 2000 with implementations in UK, Belgium and Eire. The client requested that I remain with the Project Team for Phase 2 to help deliver the solution to several other EU countries and provide application support. Following go-live I was responsible for supporting users of the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Fixed Asset modules in UK and Ireland both at the manufacturing locations and the Shared Services Centre. This included writing and delivering training courses for users, investigation and resolution of integrity issues and training the Application Support Team at the Shared Service Centre. Baxter have asked for me to return on several occasions to assist with upgrades, service packs, etc J D Edwards (UK) Ltd. February 1996 - September 1999 JD Edwards are a major international supplier of ERP software and services to medium to large enterprises. Whilst at JD Edwards I was promoted rapidly from consultant to senior consultant to client manager, receiving several awards in the process. Senior Financial Consultant As a the fist European consultant to learn and support OneWorld I supported client implementations and delivered training courses, both on-site and at the JDE training centre. My primary responsibility from November 1996 to January 1998 was to provide implementation support for the OneWorld project at BSkyB. As a key member of this project, I was responsible for the project team training, business analysis, business-process design and system configuration for G/L, A/P, A/R, A/B and the Report Writer as well as managing the data migration for those modules. I also specified and tested the custom interfaces and reports and managed the development teams responsible for delivering these components. At that time OneWorld was a very new product and I had the opportunity to contribute to product design by leading a team to the JDE head office in Denver to test and QA the latest release. Prior to the introduction of OneWorld, I worked with the World application. This included training client's staff and other JDE consultants in Basic Foundation, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Advanced General Ledger, World Writer, FASTR and World Vista. I also implemented World (either as a consultant or project manager) for several clients from project initiation through to go-live. Cincom Systems (UK) Ltd. Senior Financial Consultant - January 1990 to January 1996 Cincom are a US based supplier of ERP software for complex manufacturing and defence markets. As the senior financial consultant outside the USA, I was responsible for the implementation of the ERP software at clients by providing financial implementation advice and training. For the final two years I concentrated on managing the implementation of the financial modules at two major clients, British Aerospace (Scotland) and Ericsson (Sweden, Spain and China). I was also responsible for the development of the financial modules following their introduction to Europe. This entailed meeting clients across Europe, assessing their requirements, then configuring the system to match the business process or specifying what changes need to be made to the product. Cincom were eager to ensure their software was suitable for the European market so I lead a team of 3 in Brussels to match the software to the Belgian requirements – recognised as the most stringent in Europe. |
